New Aldi in town AND the Laundry Room Reveal!!

First things first! We have a new Aldi that just opened in St. John this past weekend. It was NUTS over there, I'll tell ya, so I didn't show up until today. And normally, I don't shop Aldi but I was very pleasantly surprised today! Look what I got for just $31.76!!!
Amazing, I'll tell ya!!

Now to the real deal!!!

We got the laundry room finished last night! I'm so happy. It's so nice to walk into a clean room to do your laundry!

I'm puttin' the smack down on Punkin...or I'm sending her to Caroline to toilet train her. I'm not sure which yet. Anyhow...that cat always had food or kitty liter all over my laundry room floor.

This is what it looked like a couple weeks ago when we got out the wrecking ball.

We added an extra cabinet that Mom and Dad had leftover in their basement. One can never have enough cabinets in the laundry room!

I thought about painting it something completely different since the style was different, but hubby talked me out of it.

That silly cat thought it was swell to sleep on the dryer. That sleeping arrangement has come to an end!!

And I had a big mirror hanging in there that no one ever looked in! That got moved to the Living room for now!
Besides...I have a little something special that is going to hang in it's place very soon!

And HERE it is today!!

Amy got me this "word art" from The Rustic Hutch in Mesa!

Dennis put crown molding up above the cabinets!

I'm LOVIN' it!

Here is an old rug beater my sweet Mama has had hanging in her laundry room for years! She'd be so happy I hung it in mine!

And these coat racks used to be natural oak, now they are painted and roughed up a bit.

The hooks used to be shiney brass, now they are Oil Rubbed Bronze.

Here's a broad view of the room. We got the washer and dryer from Mom and Dad's. And we took ours over there and hooked it up so I can finish cleaning their house this winter.

Below is a shot of the beadboard that my honey worked so hard on! He's just the sweetest man I know! He didn't question me once...just told me to pick it out and he'd install it or hire it done!

He installed it all cuz he's not really into hiring things done!

I'm so happy with it all! I did 4 loads of laundry since 7:30 PM last night! It's so nice to have it back in my house. I've been running over to Mom's to do laundry since before Amy and Carter were here! I'm thinking the total cost for this mess was around $350.00. We got new flooring, beadboard, paint, laundry sink and faucet. Not too bad for a brand new room!!

Plus, I have enough beadboard leftover to do the backsplash under my kitchen cabinets!

I planned it that way! ; )

Stay tuned...the new countertops come next Tuesday.

The plumber comes Wednesday.

Dennis hired the countertop installers AND the plumber.

Dennis doens't like hiring people but Dennis knows his limitations!

Dennis is a smart man, he am, he am!!
