Looking through the baby pictures yet again...and I didn't want to ever forget this shot! My little girl giving her tiny son his first bath. Is there anything that tastes sweeter than a newborn tummy? Soak it up Amy...he's growing right before our eyes!

I think back.....
...and smile!
The Purpose of Marriage
Nancy Leigh DeMoss: A woman said to me recently, “For the first two years of our marriage, I thought it was my husband’s job to make me happy, and he thought it was my job to make him happy—and it didn’t work.”
Women who get married just to find happiness are inevitably setting themselves up for disappointment. They hardly ever find what they’re looking for. That’s because the ultimate purpose of marriage is not to be happy but to glorify God.
The truth is, no human being can make you happy. True joy is only found in Christ. When we come to Him to meet our deepest needs, you then have the strength to fulfill the purpose of marriage—to glorify God.
If that’s your focus, you will experience some moments of happiness, and you’ll have the ability to stay faithful during seasons of unhappiness. Are you looking to Christ to meet your deepest needs?
With Seeking Him, Nancy Leigh DeMoss.

And now I know why....
As most of you know, American Idol is really the only show I ever watch on TV...oh, except all those great shows on HGTV on Saturday morning! This year I loved following Kris Allen from Conway, AR. Now...I didn't do research on this guy so I didn't know anything about his personal life but I felt a little connection to him in someway. I know...sounds silly. This morning, I see this video on UTube and it all comes together. I have NEVER, EVER voted for anyone in the past. In fact, I always made fun of people that did. I voted Tuesday night. In fact, I voted 120 times! Are you laughing at ME yet?
I'm pretty sure he won by more than 120 votes, but since I truly thought the other contestant would win I thought "why not give Kris as many votes as I can?". I sat here and punched redial about 120 times! I was as surprised as most of you (if anyone else out there even followed this show) but after watching this video of Kris leading worship in his home church, I realized that it was supposed to be seen by many people...and it wouldn't have been if he hadn't have won. There is no one like our God!! It had particular meaning to me too, since we are involved in a potential church plant here in St. John, IN. There IS more work to be done and we need to be about the business of letting others know that "There is no one like our God!" Let's get to work!
P.S. The above video in NO WAY takes place of the one below! This little guy below will ALWAYS be my American Idol!! ; ) (Grammy loves you Carter!!)

Busy Days....busy nights!
I wish I was more computer savvy...(is that how you spell that word?)....but I'm so thankful that Grammy Sandy and Aunt Kristen are putting pictures of my new little grandson on their blogs! I don't know how to do this on Amy's laptop. I will confess...holding a baby, making dinners, washing baby clothes and rubbing the EXCESS fluid out of my daughter's poor feet and legs is definately my priority right now, so forgive me for the lack of picture postings! (for my aunts that might take a sneek peek on here to find a picture or two, just click on Sandy's blog, found on the right sidebar for the newest pics that we are sending!)
Carter is so wonderful! Such a good baby! This second day of his life, I am seeing both sides of the families come forth as he is changing so quickly! He sure has Brian's feet and hands. My goodness that boy has long feet and the longest fingers I've seen! His nose is more "button-like" each day and his big blue eyes are really trying to focus on us. Oh...it's hysterical when he is dozing and tries to open his eyes only for them to "wander" up, down and all around! Amy laughs so hard I told her she HAD to hold still for fear she'll give him "shaken baby syndrome"! He was up quite a bit last night (so we heard) and tonight we have a "family plan" in place. Brian went back to work today b/c we are here to help and he thinks his help may be needed more after we leave, so we are trying to let him sleep tonight! I'll be up for another hour, then Papa is on call if Amy needs him. Carter likes to be held after his feedings and he sure sleeps good on our chest...so if we are needed, Amy will tap on our door to get up and let him sleep on us until she gets a little more caught up on her sleep. (You'll hear not one complaint from this grammy on that!!)
Tomorrow, he goes in for his weight check and to make a follow up appt. for a little "manly surgery" that will be done later this week in the office. (no...he's not Jewish..ha!) Everyone's doing really well. Amy's healing nicely and trying to get some rest...but she's still on a high and loves her little man to pieces. Brian is such a wonderful Daddy, but I'll admit he doesn't get to hold Carter much!! I'm quite sure that'll change after we head back north!
Thank you all for your prayers...they were answered and this little man is sooo very cute. And I'm not saying that just because he's my grandson....he's REALLY a cute little bug! I'll get some pics on here as soon as I can...be prepared for one of the longest slideshows ever....that is..until Kierstyn comes in a couple months! I just can't tell you how my heart is overflowing right now!! Babies are a beautiful gift from God...that's all there is to it!
